Genomic Health® has worked with Living Beyond Breast Cancer and CancerCare to develop new educational materials for women and families affected by breast cancer.
Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s new Guide to Understanding Treatment Decisions will help newly diagnosed women learn how to interpret test results and create an individualized plan for care in the first few weeks after a diagnosis. The brochure explores understanding a patient’s pathology report and the results of genomic tests, paying for tests, working with a treatment team, and making decisions about surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and other adjuvant treatments.

In addition, CancerCare has recently published two companion fact sheets for women who have been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The first fact sheet, After a Breast Cancer Diagnosis: Questions to Ask Your Doctor, addresses important questions that a patient will want to discuss with her healthcare team. The second fact sheet, Diagnostic Tests for Early-Stage Breast Cancer, provides an overview on understanding the individual biology of a patient’s breast tumor and genomic tests that can aid with treatment decision-making.
