Thanksgiving is right around the corner and that means that the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium is going to be here before we know it! At this year’s conference, Genomic Health will be hosting a reception for the advocate community. As many of you know, this reception has been a tradition for several years and it is an event that we look forward to at each SABCS. This year’s dessert reception will be held on Friday evening, December 11th from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio for after-dinner drinks, chocolate, and other delectable treats!
Invitations have been sent for the reception, but if you or anyone you know was missed on the initial distribution, please send the appropriate contact information to Jessica Denning at jdenning@genomichealth.com. Please include the individual’s first name, last name, advocate affiliation, and email address.
We’ve always believed that these events serve as an opportunity to foster discussions with the advocate community around the role of genomics in cancer and personalized medicine, as well a chance for us to hear the community’s perspective on key issues. At the upcoming reception, we hope to create an atmosphere of open dialogue, and we look forward to discussing with you how best to continue incorporating the patient perspective into our work.
In addition to the advocate reception on Friday night, our Chief Medical Officer, Steve Shak MD, will be participating in one of Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation’s “Hot Topics Mentor Panels,” along with Julie Gralow, MD, Sharon Wilks, MD, and Richard Crownover, MD, PhD, on Saturday December 12, 2009 at 5:15 p.m. Please save the date for this exciting session, and visit the Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation website for further details at www.alamobreastcancer.org.
Lastly, we encourage you to see our flagship educational program for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, My Breast Cancer Coach, at Breast Cancer Network of Strength’s booth in the exhibit hall, where you can view a live demonstration and learn more about the program.
We look forward to catching up with you in San Antonio!
